ABSTRACT

Transmission lines is one of the most important infrastructure in electric power
system because it is constitute medium of energy distribution. However the
existence of high voltage transmission 150 kV as an electric energy distribution
causes many problems, one of them is electric field. The amount of electric
magnitude field under transmission line is necessary to knew to determine if it
stills in a safe limit or not. The magnitude electric field which is calculated is the
magnitude of electric field on points which there are no objects at surround the
points. The research using discrete charge simulation method which is
implemented to count electric magnitude field on unflat ground contour. The
ground surface closest to the conductor generally produce the biggest electric field.
From the calculation can be seen the magnitude of electric field under high voltage
transmission 150 kV (GI Kalianda - GI Sutami) is still far under the safe threshold,
i.e. 1,6411 kV/m.
